The Good Earth Farm Restoration

The Good Earth Farmhouse was constructed in 2013 as a home to our family and then shortly there-after, during 2015, it was converted into a Villa as part of the Hog Hollow Country Lodge, whilst we as a family went to live in the nearby town of Plettenberg Bay to accommodate the lifestyle of young teenagers who enjoy being close to the beach, friends and nightlife.

During 2020, when tourism in South Africa experienced a total shutdown along with the rest of the world due to Covid regulations, we moved back to the farm and into our old home.  Big changes occurred in our family as well, which resulted in The Good Earth Farm being born as a subdivision of the land previously fully owned by Hog Hollow Country Lodge.

Although a tumultuous time in our lives, this was also an exciting opportunity to build something anew, and a vision was created to set up The Good Earth Farm as a sustainable lifestyle farm, offering self-catering accommodation, a workshop venue and establishing a food forest built on Permaculture and Bio-Dynamic Principles to feed our family and to rebuild the ecology affected by the establishment of Wattle Plantations during the 1950s.

In September 2023, this dream became a reality upon registration of the sub-division which allowed us to implement our vision fully.

The Good Earth Farmhouse has now been lovingly restored to embody the feel of a family home, creamy walls, furniture sourced over time to reflect good memories, comfort and character, four en suite spacious bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, lounge and dining area with fire place, spacious lap pool, forest verandah, boma for barbecues and the garden fully fenced to accommodate well behaved pets.

We hope to welcome you, your family and pets to stay at and explore our magical farm soon.
