Release, Reset, and Realign an Ayurvedic Cleanse Retreat at The Good Earth Farm

Release, Reset, and Realign an Ayurvedic Cleanse Retreat at The Good Earth Farm

guided by Kim van Niekerk

There is a particular quality to winter mornings on the Garden Route. The air turns crisp and quiet, mist settles between the trees, and the whole landscape seems to exhale. Nature is doing what it always does this time of year: slowing down, turning inward, restoring itself from the inside out.

Our bodies are asking for the same thing.

This June, we're opening the doors of The Good Earth Farm for a four-day Ayurvedic Winter Cleanse Retreat, a gentle, guided invitation to pause, soften, and come home to yourself before the year carries you any further.

This Isn't a Detox. It's a Homecoming.

Let's be clear about what this retreat is not. It's not a juice fast. It's not about willpower, deprivation, or punishing your body into submission. It's not another wellness trend wrapped in beige linen.

What it is is something much older and much kinder.

Ayurveda, the ancient science of life, teaches that healing isn't something we force. It's something we allow. Rooted in thousands of years of observation of the natural world, Ayurveda works with food as medicine, daily rhythms, breath, movement, stillness, and a deep awareness of your unique constitution. It asks a simple question that modern wellness often forgets to ask: what does your body actually need right now?

Our winter cleanse is built around that question.

The Work of the Cleanse

Over four days, we work gently with three key principles of Ayurvedic healing:

Ama, the toxins and stagnation that accumulate in the body and mind, often without us noticing until we feel heavy, foggy, or flat.

Agni, your digestive fire and metabolic vitality, which sits at the heart of how energised, clear, and well you feel.

Dosha, your unique constitution, and the subtle imbalances that arise as seasons, stresses, and life change around you.

Everyone arrives at this retreat different, and everyone is supported individually. There is no one-size-fits-all protocol here. We meet you where you are.

A Day in the Rhythm

Each day on the retreat unfolds slowly, in tune with the natural world around us.

We begin in silence as the sun rises. A gentle awakening follows: conscious face washing as a ritual of presence, QiGong and subtle movement to wake the body, light tapping practices to stimulate energy flow, and breathwork to regulate the nervous system. It sounds simple because it is. The simplicity is the point.

A warm, grounding Ayurvedic breakfast follows, prepared in alignment with the cleanse. Throughout the retreat, meals are mindfully crafted, and where possible, co-created, with ingredients harvested from the garden that morning. This connection to the land, to food that was alive in the soil hours before it's on your plate, is part of the medicine.

Mornings then move into the deeper teachings: the essence and principles of Ayurveda, understanding your Dosha and current imbalances, the role of the six tastes in healing, the concept of Gunas and how we restore balance through opposites, and the seasonal and circadian rhythms your body is quietly trying to follow.

Afternoons open into space. Gentle yoga and meridian therapy. Breathwork tailored to your specific needs. Rest, reflection, stillness, the quiet that invites integration and restoration.

What You'll Take Home

This retreat is designed not just as an experience, but as a foundation, leaving you with tools you can actually use.

Included in your stay: farm-based accommodation in a peaceful natural setting, all meals aligned to the Ayurvedic cleanse protocol, therapeutic teas and herbal support, cooking masterclasses using herbs and spices as medicine, daily Ayurvedic teachings, the guided four-day cleanse itself, a personalised ten-day take-home protocol to continue the work at home, yoga and breathwork practices for ongoing support, and a Build Your Pathway to Thrive booklet to carry with you.

Is This For You?

This retreat may be calling you if you've been feeling tired, overwhelmed, or quietly out of balance. If digestion has become uncomfortable, energy is low, or sleep isn't what it used to be. If your mind feels foggy and you're longing for clarity. If you're curious about food as medicine. Or if you simply want to live a little more in rhythm with the season you're actually in.

The Setting

The Good Earth Farm sits in The Crags, cradled between forest, mountains, and ocean. It's the kind of place where healing happens on its own, without you having to try. You are not asked to do more here; you are invited to simply remember how to be.

A Gentle Invitation

This winter, give yourself permission to return to yourself. To slow down. To release what's heavy. To listen deeply to what's been trying to get your attention.

And to begin again, with clarity, energy, and intention.
